Our Spot Light Presentations are important part of our meetings as we learn more about the business and person in order to help send leads and referrals their way.  It has really been helpful to get others thinking about different topics that affect all of us in our every day business as well as personal lives.  The businesses that are Spot Lighted can give out promotional items, handouts, demonstrate, while we ask other businesses to bring business cards.

Our first April Spot Light Presentation was April 1, 2010 with Andrew Szmuc of DesertRiver Solution, LLC.  Andew is the owner of this document scanning, destruction, & consulting company.  He will do free on-site estimates.  His company is HIPAA and FACTA compliant.  Any office with many files that want to reduce the paper he can help by scanning the files and putting them on computer media.  He can be reached at 480-577-3150.

Mr. Cutler was our 2009 Vice President and was an independent contractor for Today's Chamber our management company as the Membership Director for the Ocotillo Chamber of Commerce, LLC. On March 11, 2010 Rick J. Rosenquist (one of our newest members) with Strategic Employee Benefits will be our Spot Light Presentation. Rick is an Employee Benefit Specialist with designations of GBA, REBC, and RHU.  Rick lives in Ocotillo and works at 2201 E. Camelback Road, Ste 400, Phoenix.

On March 18, 2010 Bill Lucey, Realtor with Re/Max Achievers will be our Spot Light Presentation.  Bill has designations of CDPE, and GRI and works with partner Jane Lucey.  Bill and Jane office is located at 333 N. Dobson Road, Chandler 85224.

On March 25th 2010 Peter R. Sutton, DC with Apex Chiropractic will be our Spot Light Presentation. Dr. Sutton is located at 4960 S. Alma School Road, # 117, Chandler, AZ  85248.  (In the Safeway Shopping Center).

For the next quarter (April, May, June) what are our goals: 

• We are going to continue to grow our weekly meetings at the Ocotillo Golf Resort every Thursday morning at 7:15 A.M. 
• Our monthly golf events we are going to continue to promote and grow with the help of www.NetworkingGolfEvents.com and Golfsmith International.
• We are focusing on monthly ribbon cutting and or anniversaries to promote businesses in Ocotillo that are members of the Chamber of Commerce.
• We discussed having our monthly mixer after the golf event on the third Tuesday of the month  at 5:00 P.M at the Ocotillo Golf Resort.  It was felt by the group that was a better time to do a mixer than a separate outing. 
• Volunteer Greeters are need for our meetings and events.  Adriana Durfee and Betty Dupuis volunteers to be greeters for the golf event on April 20th. 

We have the Business Expo and Job Fair coming up in September 19th.  Andrew Szmuc with Desert River Solutions, LLC is already signed up with his tradebooth. 

There was discussion about how we could get business information to other new businesses in the Ocotillo area.  M Kameron Hawkins - Chamber Chairman suggested three ways it could be done:

1.  Individual Businesses can be sponsors
2.  Cooperative Business effort
3.  Out Reach Committee

This is open for further discussion in May's Mentor Committee Meeting. 

If you would like to be a part of the Mentor Committee please mark your calendar for the second Thursday of the month after the Chamber Breakfast meeting.

On February 18th,  Small Business Enrollment Specialist, Healthcare Group of Arizona, 701 E. Jefferson St. Phoenix, AZ  85034, will talk with us about health insurance for small businesses. 

On, February 25th, Marion Brown, Designer with Classy Closets, 1251 . Nelson Drive, Chandler, AZ  85226 will talk about space and organization.
